as unexcused (Ex.:  pictures, work, overslept, no ride, etc.)

General Discipline

    1.  Do not talk while I am talking.  Nothing upsets me more than this.  This includes team meetings, practices, on the bench, in the huddle, etc.  If you want respect, give respect.

2.  Do not behave in an inappropriate manner during practice, competition, or any other team related activities, at home or away.
Do not embarrass your team, your school, or yourself.  Act in a manner appropriate of a top level program.
*A player receiving a yellow card in a match will receive a 1 week suspension from competition and extra conditioning.
A red card will result in an indefinite suspension based on this situation.

3.  Be on time.  This includes meetings, practices, games, etc.  If you are late expect extra conditioning.

4.  Do not show disrespect to your coaches, teammates, or opponents.  This includes being verbally or physically abusive, hazing, talking back, refusing to follow instructions, horseplay, etc.

5.  Do not exhibit a negative attitude which may be detrimental to the team.

6.  Confirmed used of drugs or alcohol will result in immediate dismissal from the team in accordance with the school's athletic discipline code.  Violators may also be subject to further disciplinary action by the school and by law enforcement authorities depending on the nature and severity of the infraction.

7.  All other general school disciplinary guidelines apply (cheating, insubordination, etc.)
Players who are disciplined by the school may also be subject to disciplinary action on the team.

Tryouts

From one season to the next, it may be necessary to cut to a certain number of players.  Whether or not cuts are made will depend on the number of players at each level, the amount of available equipment and uniforms, and the discretion of the coaches.

If cuts are necessary, they will be based on attitude, effort, and ability (not grade level or off-season participation).  A preliminary cut list will be posted after the 3rd day of practice and a final list will be posted following the 5th day of practice.  Any player cut from the team may apply to be a team manager, statistician, or videotaper.

Violations of the general disciplinary guidelines stated above will be handled by the head coach, with input from the assistant coaches.

Consequences may range from extra conditioning, to suspension from competition, to automatic dismissal from the squad.  This will depend on the nature and severity of the infraction, and the individual's disciplinary history.  As the head coach, I reserve the right to add to, detract from, or deviate from the disciplinary policy should the need arise.  Any disciplinary actions taken by the head coach will be in accordance with the stated guidelines, and are final.  Any parent, guardian, or player that does not agree with any of the above stated guidelines, or feels that they are inappropriate is encouraged to discuss the problem with the coaching staff.
