Dance:
On Friday, February 10, beginning at 6:00pm and ending at 8:00pm, the Pleasant Hill Middle School Student Council will be hosting a middle school dance. In order for students to be eligible to attend the dance, they must be a PHMS 7th or 8th grade student who attended school that day and did not demonstrate any major discipline problems for the previous week of school. Admission is $5, payable at the door. Pictures can be purchased for an additional $2. Parents are encouraged to help chaperone the festivities and/or send treats. For those wishing to volunteer their assistance, please arrive at the school at 5:45 p.m. for a brief meeting with the principal or send in treats to the school office by Thursday, Feb. 9.

Student Council will be holding two fundraising efforts next week for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There will be an advisory contest to see which group can raise the most money in a spare change drive for our “Change for a Cure.” The winning advisory will win a pizza party! Our second fundraiser will be selling Lollipop Valentine’s. For one dollar you will get a valentine card, an Ozark Delight lollipop, and deliver of your Lollipop Valentine on Valentine’s Day. They are $1 each or 6 for $5. For every valentine you purchase, you may enter your name in a raffle for a prize yet to be determined but one that will most likely involve a lot of chocolate. We will be selling valentines outside the gym before school and in the cafeteria during all lunch shifts. If you have any questions please see any Student Council member.

Also next week I will have some students in that will give different facts about Leukemia and Lymphoma to hopefully stir up additional donations.
